What's Miami Ink?
Miami Ink is actually a tattoo shop in South Beach in Miami. It is also the name of the reality show filmed at the studio. Picture six artists and their strikingly different personalities trying to get along while inking some amazing art. The show is a lot of fun and if you're even remotely interested in tattoos (which I'm going to go ahead and assume you are) you'll get addicted to it.
Who are the artists?
There are currently six artists working out of the shop: Ami James, Chris Nunez, Chris Garver, Darren Brass, Yoji Harada, and Kat Von D. Ami James and Chris Nunez are the co-owners of the studio. Ami is the tough guy (yes guy), Nunez is the chick-magnet, Garver is the smart type, and Darren is your classic nice guy. Yoji started out as the newbie, but he has since progressed to inking his own clients. Kat (the Queen of Portraits) got her start in the studio by filling in for Darren while he was injured.

A Reality Tattoo Show? Come on...
Survivor, American Idol, and a jillion others came before it, can it really be any good? The answer is a definite yes. Miami Ink is not just another reality show. It's on TLC so it's much more documentary and less drama. You get the picture. The artists sometimes get cranky and things go wrong, but its the reality that makes it interesting. Definitely check it out. Tuesdays 10/9c on TLC
